The traditional end-of-year meal of the Elders of Bas Quercy de Gasques, on November 24, was the scene of an anniversary. That of the 50th anniversary, the golden wedding anniversary, of the couple Aline and Serge Zambon, from Tayrac, a dozen kilometers away, in Lot-et-Garonne.
They have been members of this Gasque association for a handful of years, sharing between belote, lotos, pétanque, trips or daily outings to discover the local heritage or enjoy good, friendly times.
Serge, building electrician, then maintenance mechanic at the Agenais Neveu establishments, married Aline, housekeeper and devoted to the elderly, on June 22, 1974.
They met at a ball in Lafox. He could have gone there by car, she by hitchhiking! Another era!
They had four children, perfectly alternating between a boy and a girl: Jérôme, who died far too young, and Magalie, Sébastien and Marie-Laure. And since then, happily, six grandchildren.
