ESS month is an opportunity to highlight this economy which still lacks visibility; it ended with the awarding of a regional prize. The jury, made up of members of the CRESS (Regional Chamber of the Social and Solidarity Economy) as well as ESS families such as the Loire Center Savings Bank or Macif and financial partners, including the Banque des Territoires , thus determined who would be the favorite of 2024. The winner, in addition to obtaining a certain visibility thanks to this prize, was given a check for 2,000 euros as well as a bronze trophy handmade by Vincent Burille.
Veloop, winner of the award
It was Veloop which obtained the 1st prize of the ESS 2024. This company, co-founded by Pierre Boscredon and Manon Dubois in 2022, aims to support the structuring, organization and development of all stages of the bicycle industry. Their activities are numerous, between collection, sorting, recovery, distribution, sale of bicycles and spare parts, rental of reconditioned bicycles and recycling of waste, nothing to get bored!
Pierre Boscredon returned to the innovative feature of his company: “ There are already local players: there are repair workshops and initiatives in this area. But the objective is really to say that in a territory, we will give ourselves the means to create links between these networks. We will interpret them, collect them, sort them and then promote them ».
An innovative system that aims for social utility and not profit
Pierre Boscredon, receiving the ESS prize, recalled the values of the structure he created: “ We are not in competition but in cooperation “. He then showed us the Veloop premises, a 1,200 m² warehouse located on avenue Thérèse Voisin in Tours.
The objective of the ESS prize is to lead, by supporting innovative projects like this, to other ways of thinking about our society. Veloop is thus positioned as an economic model for companies that should be deployed in the years to come.
