A new connected running association is born in the South Channel

This is a brand new association that has been created in Grandparigny, in the South Manche. Around ten running enthusiasts decided to set up the Running des 3 provinces, to come together and train other fans of this sport. “The idea came to us during an evening. Someone started it like that, and the project came to life,” recalls Florian Dupont, vice-president of the association.

All the founders are in their twenties. They are taking advantage of the fashionable effect of the discipline to create their association, and even their own race: the Parigny Running Show, which is due to take place on August 30, 2025. “We noticed that there were more and more followers. Registrations for races open earlier, it's more expensive. Paradoxically, the number of races is decreasing. Grandparigny had a test, it has disappeared, the same as Louvigné,” analyzes Florian Dupont.

Food truck evening and concert

Through this new race, the athletes hope to create more excitement in the town, and reach a wide audience. “We really want to open it up to everyone. Even those who never exercise. And prices will be low to move in this direction,” continues the vice-president. Two courses of 5 and 10 km will be offered. A food trucks and concert evening is planned after the race.

Social networks as a meeting tool

To get together and train together, these young people use social networks, notably WhatsApp, but also Strava, a new application that has been very popular among runners for several months. “There is no need to be a member to join us in these groups. Just ask us. It’s always good to train with other people and talk to other enthusiasts, or beginners,” says Florian Dupont.

It is also on social networks, mainly Facebook, that the association is most active in sharing information on its activities, with the “Running des 3 provinces” page. “We have recorded more than 400 followers since September, we didn't think we would have so many, so we see that there is real interest,” remarks the co-founder of the Parigny Running Show. It is also on this account that the registration locations, timetables, and all the information concerning this new race will be communicated.
