ASSE, LOSC. Former general manager takes over as president of US

From one practice to another, Frédéric Paquet begins a new mission.

From foot football to football played with the hands, such is the shift made by Frédéric Paquet. During the Elective General Assembly of November 30, 2024, the former general director of LOSC (from 2009 to 2015), then of AS Saint-Etienne (January 2018 to August 2019), was elected president of the Federation French American Football (FFFA) with a large majority of 78% of the votes cast. But his list was the only one that presented itself.

Succeeding Brigitte Schleifer, who led the federation for seven years, the new president intends to continue the development of the three disciplines of American football, flag football (a discipline included in the calendar of the next Los Angeles Olympic Games) and cheerleading.

Increase licenses and support territories for main missions

“It is with great pleasure that I find a world that is dear to me. I would first like to thank all the clubs who supported the candidacy of our list. I then thank Brigitte and her team for having re-established the federation from a financial point of view even though it was in great difficulty when they arrived. It is always a very delicate and difficult exercise”declares via a press release, the 59-year-old leader.

Also on this occasion, Frédéric Paquet detailed his two priority objectives: increasing the number of licensees, particularly among young people, and strengthening support for territorial leagues. To carry out its missions, it will be able to rely on the support of the 30 members who make up its new steering committee.
