The Phocéens played an important match against Monaco this Sunday evening. Roberto De Zerbi opted for the following composition: Rulli – Murillo, Balerdi (c), Kondogbia – Luis Henrique, Hojbjerg, Rongier, Garcia – Greenwood, Rabiot – Maupay.

The Olympians entered the match strong, with a conquering spirit. Rulli nevertheless had to work against Ben Seghir (4th), then Maupay missed the target after a small bridge and serve from Luis Henrique (20th). But it was ultimately Monaco who opened the scoring through Golovin. The Russian was served by Zakaria, after Rongier lost the ball (0-1, 41st). OM returned to the locker room with a goal behind, despite fairly strong domination.

Luis Henrique did not miss the equalizer, after a mix-up in the Monegasque area. The Brazilian scored with a header into the empty goal (1-1, 53rd). Merlin replaced Garcia (59th). Rulli repelled a dive from Zakaria (60th), then Greenwood came up against Majecki (64th). Wahi took the place of Maupay (73rd). Minamino found Rulli's small outside net (77th).

The match remained uncertain until the 86th minute, when VAR intervened to signal a penalty following a handball from Mawissa. Greenwood transformed it (2-1, 88th). Nadir replaced Greenwood (90+2nd). The Monegasques tried to press, but the Marseillais were able to repel all the incursions. The referee whistled the end of the match on this success!

OM finally returned to victory at the Vélodrome stadium. Roberto De Zerbi's men are back on Monaco in the standings, passing the Monegasques on goal difference. The next match is scheduled against ASSE, next Sunday.
