PetroChina Co Ltd is a China-based company principally engaged in the production and distribution of oil and natural gas. The company mainly operates through five segments. The oil, gas and new energy segment is engaged in the exploration, development, production, transportation and marketing of crude oil and natural gas, as well as new energy. The Refining, Chemical and New Materials segment is engaged in the refining of crude oil and petroleum products, the production and marketing of primary petrochemicals, derived petrochemical products and other chemical products, as well as to the production of new materials. The Marketing segment is engaged in the marketing of refined products and non-oil products, as well as trading activities. The Natural Gas Sales segment is engaged in the transportation and sale of natural gas. The Corporate and Other segment is responsible for managing treasury and financing activities, corporate center, research and development, and other business services.
