On Facebook, park management published a press release to explain that clashes between bears are “natural behaviors” and that the teams were “deeply saddened” by the incident. Christophe Vandenbossche claims to have been supported by the management of Pairi Daiza: “After the incident, the management called us to say that it was not our fault. It helps to know that they support us. But the feeling [de culpabilité] does not disappear however. » The trainer wonders about the circumstances of the fight: “If we knew why they fought, we could prevent it from happening again. Now I worry every day. The other bear must have had a reason. We just don’t understand which one,” he explains.
