(Rimouski) The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating a homicide, the day after an event which cost the life of a man in an apartment building in Rimouski, in Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Police officers from the SQ station of the MRC of Rimouski-Neigette were called on Friday, around 4:30 p.m., to go to the scene of the attack that occurred on rue Pierre-D’Anjou.
On site, they discovered a seriously injured man. This is Michael Fitzpatrick Lévesque, a man known to police circles, according to the SQ.
The motive for the crime is unknown at this time.
“Resuscitation maneuvers were initiated, but the victim was pronounced dead on site,” said Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the SQ.
Investigators and forensic identification technicians from the SQ were deployed and they were still on the scene Saturday morning “to analyze the scene and try to clarify the circumstances surrounding the event.”
The investigation was entrusted to the crimes against the person team of the Sûreté du Québec.
