PSG and RB Salzburg will each have to compose without a framework for the clash in the Champions League. Paris SG will be deprived of Ousmane Dembélé, while RB Salzburg fears the absence of Karim Konaté.
PSG-Salzburg: Paris SG deprived of Ousmane Dembélé, RB Salzburg without Karim Konaté
PSG is having difficulties in the Champions League this season. The Parisians remain on a disappointing record: three defeats against Arsenal (2-0), Atlético Madrid (2-1) and Bayern Munich (1-0), a victory against Girona (1-0) and a match draw against PSV Eindhoven (1-1) in 5 days of the league phase of the Champions League.
Paris SG absolutely must take points in their next three matches to qualify for the round of 16. Luis Enrique's men will travel to Austria on December 10 to face RB Salzburg for the 6th day of the Champions League. And the news is not good for PSG.
The capital club will have to deal with the absence of an important element. Ousmane Dembélé, sent off during the match against Bayern Munich, will be suspended for the match against RB Salzburg. The French striker will miss his second match in European competition this season.
RB Salzburg is not spared from injuries either. This Austrian team could also cope without a starter. RB Salzburg's Ivorian striker, Karim Konaté, is doubtful for the match due to an injury sustained against Bayer Leverkusen. His trainer fears a rupture of the cruciate ligaments.
With only 4 points taken out of 15 possible, PSG finds itself in a complicated situation and must win at least two of its last three matches to hope to qualify for the round of 16. RB Salzburg, for its part, is not in better shape with 3 points and 15 goals conceded in five days.
