At least a million Ukrainians without power after massive Russian airstrike

More than a million Ukrainians are left without power in the west of the country after a massive Russian air attack on its neighbor’s civilian energy infrastructure, amid escalating Russian threats against Ukraine and the West .

The head of one of the electricity supply companies, Yasno, Sergiï Kovalenko, indicated on Facebook that there are “emergency cuts throughout the country due to the enemy’s attack.” According to him, the energy company Ukrenergo expects power cuts until the evening.

The governor of the Lviv region reported shortly before 10 a.m. local time that “523,000 subscribers (who) are without electricity because of the morning strikes”.

Rivne regional authorities said 280,000 people were without running water, and there were also running water outages. “All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack,” Governor Oleksandr Koval said on Telegram.
