Former professional hockey player drafted by Ottawa (NHL) in 2015, Quebecer Gabriel Gagné (28 years old) was found guilty of rape on Tuesday at the Palais de justice in Montmagny, reports “TVA Sports”.

As described by the Belle Province television channel, the sexual assault took place on July 23, 2016, shortly after the end of Gagné’s junior career, who had spent the last three seasons with the Victoriaville Tigres and the Cataractes. of Shawinigan in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

That evening, on the sidelines of a party organized for one of his hockey friends, Gagné asks a woman, who is 20 years old, to follow him to the basement of the house, mentioning that one of his friends “weren’t doing well.” This is a lie. In the basement, while the guests were feasting on the terrace, Gagné forced the victim to perform oral sex on him. “He held me by the head and moved back and forth,” she described during the trial. I was in shock. I had a hard time screaming, I tried to tell him to stop.”

“Le Journal de Montréal” continues: “Then, the now 28-year-old man picked her up, pulled down her panties and penetrated her, even though the victim “begged him not to do that.” It was in this traumatic way that the young woman lost her virginity.”

The sentence will be pronounced at the end of January 2025.

Gagné already faced justice a few weeks ago for sexual assault, assault and threats against a former girlfriend. He is also awaiting the verdict.
