Patrick Sébastien recalls the help of a famous friend who was able to find the words when his son died in a motorcycle accident

Faced with this mourning, Patrick Sébastien almost collapsed. He remembers this evening when he had to go on stage despite the tragedy: “The night it happened, I couldn’t stand. I had a show in the evening, I had to sing on stage in front of thousands of people and in front of the road where he was killed, so there was no way I was going..” In this moment of despair, he called for help a long-time friend, and not the least: the singer Jean-Chrysostome Dolto, better known under the stage name Carlos. The latter was then in Saint-Tropez “He knew Sébastien well and was close to the family. However, instead of taking his place, Carlos pushed Patrick Sébastien to face this ordeal.I told him: ‘come and replace me’. He told me: I can come, but I won’t come, because if you don’t go, you won’t make it.” Then, Carlos said words that still have meaning in Patrick Sébastien’s life today: “He said to me a sentence that saved my life. He told me: ‘You’re going to give people love and they’re going to give it back to you. This is what will keep you standing. And that’s what I did.” Thanks to this advice, Patrick Sébastien found the strength to go on stage.

Patrick Sébastien opens up about his previous romantic relationship with Marie Myriam

In this same interview, Patrick Sébastien indulged in other confidences, notably evoking his relationship with singer Marie Myriam. For two years, they shared a beautiful love story: “We had a great story and I was her first man, which is important for a woman“, he said. But their relationship did not resist the host’s deception, although he admits that he is not the only one to blame: “When we separated, there was already someone in her life, Michel, who became her husband. It was he who had a little doubt about what I was doing, but that’s the game.” Today, this story belongs to the past, but the complicity between the two exes continues: “She was present at my mother’s funeral, at my son’s funeral. Somehow, it’s a love from far away that’s part of the family.”
