América’s Brazilian coach, André Jardine, has outlined his plans for Chilean midfielder Víctor Dávila, who has been sidelined for several weeks. Initially it was suggested that his return would not happen until a possible final, but he could make his appearance in the Apertura 2024 quarter-finals against Toluca.
“Víctor suffered a fracture. It’s resolved now, and he’s progressed to a level where he can handle some of the match. We will see how he trains today. This match is not in our plans, but for the return match, yes, he is fit to play 20 or 30 minutes,” Jardine said.
As América prepare for their quarter-final clash against Toluca in the Apertura 2024, concerns remain over the physical condition of three players: Henry Martín, Diego Valdés and Víctor Dávila. Ahead of the first leg at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes, Jardine shared updates on the condition of each player.
