Champions League 2024-2025: a new era begins
It is undoubtedly one of the hits of 2024. Not content with having, against all expectations, finished on the podium in Ligue 1 during the last financial year, Stade Brestois is having a memorable campaign in the Champions League. For its first participation in the most beautiful club competition, the “Ty Zefs” have already gleaned ten points, in four matches, and often in style. Still undefeated – only four other teams are as well – they are in a surprising fourth place in the general ranking and are almost guaranteed to play in the final stages next spring.
It is therefore with appetite – and without much pressure – that the Bretons approach their trip to Spain, against one of the sacred monsters of continental football: FC Barcelona. “It’s exceptional to be able to play there, to confront these kinds of players, among the best in Europe”judges veteran midfielder Jonas Martin, during an interview with The Team. “For the moment, we have succeeded in our competition and we don't have much to lose. Accounting, we have no pressure. But we are not going to go there to make up the numbers, we want to win “he warns. Coach Eric Roy prefers to play the humor card. “It’s a small team that is planned for us, we will try not to have too much superiority complex to achieve a good result there”he slips at a press conference.

Champions League: at what time and on which channel to watch Barcelona-Brest?
After Sturm Graz, RB Salzburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Sparta Prague, the mountain will suddenly rise for the Finisterians. The Catalan club with five Champions Leagues has had a thunderous start to the year. Revitalized by the arrival of Hansi Flick, the Camp Nou residents are at the top of La Liga (11 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats) and have won three of their first four matches in C1. They have once again become a perfectly oiled collective machine, capable, on a big night, of dispersing any defense like a puzzle. Just ask Real Madrid, crushed 0-4 last October. The Brestois must also deal with the injury of their best player Pierre Lees-Melou, who relapsed from his fibula injury last weekend against Monaco (2-3).
