Relayed by our colleagues from Journal des Sables yesterday, the significant fire which destroyed eight public works machines and a dump truck, on the night of Sunday November 24 to Monday November 25, 2024, at L'Oie in Vendée, takes a new turn.
An anti-basin collective claims responsibility for the fire
Shortly after the fire broke out, the fire was claimed to Agence France Presse (AFP) by an organization called Stop Mégabassines.
The anti-bassines collective thus justifies its action, “in direct response to the participation of this company in the Méga-Bassines construction sites”.
Early this morning, November 25, 2024, we set fire to the Charpentier group's construction machinery, more particularly that of its public works subsidiary. […] Indeed, TP Charpentier is the most involved, whether in Vendée, Charente-Maritime and of course in Deux-Sèvres.
The anti-basin organization continues by threatening: “Putting these machines out of harm's way makes it possible to concretely stop the construction sites in progress and to remind people that no one responsible for them is unreachable. »
The La Roche-sur-Yon Public Prosecutor’s Office communicates
The La Roche-sur-Yon Public Prosecutor's Office, seized of the case, announced in a press release sent yesterday late afternoon that the fire would indeed be of criminal origin.
An offense noted
“The first findings show at least two fires and a break-in at the company gate,” said Sarah Huet, public prosecutor.
Under these conditions, the hypothesis of a fire of intentional origin is favored.
Investigations are ongoing, further indicates the Prosecutor's Office.
The Nantes research section was jointly seized with the Vendée gendarmerie group.
This large fire broke out at 3:45 a.m. on Monday, November 25. Several road tractors and a dump truck were destroyed by fire within the public works company Charpentier TP.
Remember that 21 firefighters were dispatched to the site for this intervention.
