The Mexican midfielder revealed he is receiving offers from clubs in Liga MX, MLS and Saudi Arabia.
In early November, Héctor Herrera found himself in the spotlight after spitting on a referee during a Houston Dynamo MLS playoff match. Nearly a month later, the Mexican spoke about the incident, expressing his regret.
In an interview with Fox Sports, the midfielder said that this action is the only one he regrets in his football career.
“The only mistake I regret is my last match; my action there is the only thing I regret in my career because I have always been very decent, a good teammate, and I have always controlled my impulses at times. moments when I had to keep calm, and I didn’t do that in this case,” he revealed.
“After thinking about it a lot, calming down and discussing it with my family, this is something I regret. At the time, I apologized to my teammates, the fans and the referee,” he added.

Herrera stressed that his behavior was a significant mistake that will serve as a lesson for the future, as he is not yet thinking about retirement. In this regard, he mentioned that he had offers from several clubs.
It should be noted that a few days after this incident and following the elimination against the Seattle Sounders, the veteran player was released from the club. This came after the franchise decided not to renew the contracts of six players, including Herrera.
“I think we are all human and things can happen to us at any time. I believe this will be very beneficial for me; I will learn a lot from this lesson,” he insisted.
“Thank God I have a lot of offers, both from Mexico and MLS, Saudi Arabia and other places. I think I’m at a point in my career where I can choose where to play, and the The truth is that I am very calm about that,” he expressed.

In the match against the Seattle Sounders, in the 65th minute, Herrera lost his composure due to a yellow card shown by the referee. In protest, the Mexican turned around and spat at the referee’s feet. After reviewing the incident, the referee decided to send off the midfielder.
If he remains in MLS, he will have to serve a three-game suspension due to the incident. In addition, he will have to pay a fine of an undisclosed amount, following the Disciplinary Committee’s decision to take action.
During his time with the Houston Dynamo, Héctor Herrera made 56 appearances, scoring six goals and providing 13 assists. He spent two seasons with the orange team.
