The police carried out a major operation yesterday in the stronghold of the gang leader of Delmas 2. The specialized police units reached the residence of Jimmy Cherisier but he had time to flee, said the Police Spokesperson on Radio Métropole in the morning newspaper of this Monday, November 25, 2024.

The police recovered an AK 47 belonging to the gang leader and several pieces of equipment. The specialized units have left the area but Commissioner Michael Ange Louis Jeune assures that police officers from the area police station continue to carry out patrols.

Large-scale operations will continue without announcement, said Mr. Louis Jeune, estimating that an apparent calm reigns in the Bas de Delmas area. He salutes the determination of the police officers who occupy more space in the metropolitan region. It also reports the continuation of operations in Solino and Bel Air.

The police used logistical machines to clear the way to the stronghold of Mr. Cherisier, the main leader of the coalition of gangs which is sowing terror in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince.
