the essential
Two teenagers aged 15 and 16 are indicted for the murder, Saturday November 23, of Teddy, 40, stabbed to death in . Inappropriate remarks towards young girls are said to be at the origin of the brawl.

Teddy, 40, died during the night from Friday to Saturday, on a piece of sidewalk in Blagnac. His lung was punctured by a fatal stab wound. The ambulance declared him dead on the spot around 5:15 a.m.

We now know more about the sequence of events which led to his murder and the incarceration of two suspects aged only 15 and 16. The day before, the victim, living in , decided to go to an acquaintance’s birthday in Blagnac.

A second fight

Around 1 o’clock, he and his friends crossed paths with teenagers, boys and girls, who were squatting in a room near Place de Catalogne. The adults allegedly behaved in ways that displeased the teenagers. Inappropriate words, hissing… they did not appreciate the way the victim would have addressed the young girls.

It was there that a first brawl involving many people broke out. Feeling in a bad situation, the future victim took off, but some young people did not hear it that way and another scene of violence broke out.

Who pulled out the knife? Teddy? His pursuers? The fact remains that the man was hit by three blows, at least one of which was fatal and punctured his lung. However, he continued walking until he found himself on Rue des Pâquerettes where his body was discovered around 5:15 a.m.

A suspect provides first aid

It was one of the teenagers involved in the second fight who found him lying there when he returned home. This 16-year-old boy called for help himself before starting, with a friend, to provide first aid to the victim.

Investigators from the Organized and Specialized Crime Division were tasked with the investigation. Helped in particular by the images filmed by the video protection cameras of the city of Toulouse, they identified two minors likely to have been the last to exchange blows with Teddy after the general fight.

On Sunday, they were indicted for “intentional homicide” and imprisoned. Their lawyers, Sarah Nabet-Claverie, Alexandre Parra-Bruguière, Emmanuelle Franck, Alexandre Martin and Léna Yassfy, requested a deferred debate before the judge of freedoms and detention. This should be held on Wednesday.
