“No to the buildings on rue du Jeu d’Arc”, such was the catchphrase of the petition launched by Christine Restina and Luc Debristwo residents of Saint-Pathus (Seine-et-Marne), last March.
At this time, they founded “the Jeu d’Arc collective”. This involves a building construction project comprising 17 housing units in the small rue du Jeu d'arc. “We are deeply concerned about the consequences that these projects could have on our town”, we can still read in the description of the online petition which collected 429 signatures.
On the land of the former mayor
For several years, Saint-Pathus has seen many buildings rising from the ground. “There was a need at the beginning, and we were in agreement with that. But we still want our city to keep its rural side, we are attached to our peace. That’s why when this project reached our ears, we decided to fight,” say Christine and Luc unanimously.
What particularly annoyed the residents was that the owner of the land on which this building was to be erected was none other than the mayor of the town at that time, Jean-Benoit Pinturier.
A fight won
Quickly, the two Pathusians called on a lawyer to help them in their approach. “He made us make a free appeal to the town hall, and we won our case since the new municipality, unlike the old one, is also fighting against these projects and to have the PLU modified. »
Despite everything, caution remains in order. “It was the developer who abandoned the project. We are not safe from our neighbor calling on a new developer, but I don't think so. We still remain vigilant, and we would be completely ready to resume our battle. »
