Following the results of the first round of the legislative elections in the 4th constituency (notably that of Sablé-sur-Sarthe), Sunday June 30, 2024the question is to know what will be the position of Sylvie Casenave-Péré, candidate of Ensemble-majorité présidentielle, who came in 3rd position. Surprise: she calls for the withdrawal of Elise Leboucher.

The RN candidate, Marie-Caroline Le Pen, came out on top in this first round with 39.26% of the vote.

35 votes difference between the two candidates

Elise Leboucher, outgoing MP and candidate for the New Popular Rally and Sylvie Cassenave-Péré, for Ensemble, only have a 35 vote difference in favour of the former (25.94% against 25.88%).

For the moment, the second round is showing a three-way race.

Elise Leboucher called on Sunday evening for the withdrawal of the majority candidate.

“Prevent the RN from obtaining a seat in the 4th constituency”

This Monday, July 1st in the morning, Sylvie Casenave-Péré does the same. “My mission in this campaign is to prevent the RN from obtaining a seat in the 4th constituency,” believes the candidate.

Whether I withdraw or not, Mrs Leboucher has no chance of winning.

Sylvie Casenave-Pere

Sylvie Casenave-Péré has committed to this campaign to “block the RN”. She has done the math. She could benefit from the voice reports right-wing candidates: LR Léo Brisard (5.58%) and Didier Barbet (various right) who posted 3.09% of the vote.

“I’m waiting for his decision”

“If she withdraws, I have a good chance of beating Ms. Le Pen. So it is Ms. Leboucher who can or cannot elect Ms. Le Pen, I await her decision.”

As for the Prime Minister’s national instructions, the candidate leaves “Gabriel Attal the freedom of his remarks”.
