The Civil Guard found on Saturday the remains of the bodies of a woman of Moroccan origin and her two minor children in a house in Las Pedroñeras in Cuenca, in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha.

The woman and her two minor children had been missing since Friday. Their dismembered bodies were found on Saturday by the Civil Guard after they were alerted by the woman’s colleagues about her absence from work.

The analysis of the remains of the bodies found in a house next to the victims’ home made it possible to confirm their identity, reports La Gaceta. The woman worked at the town hall of Las Pedroñeras (Cuenca) and had repeatedly denounced the mistreatment she suffered from her husband, also of Moroccan origin.

The latter, who is about 44 years old and has been the subject of a restraining order for sexist violence, was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the murder of his wife and two children, aged about five and seven. This tragedy shocked the city of Las Pedroñeras (Cuenca).
