Brussels firefighters intervened this Sunday in Laeken for a major fire.
It was 5:05 p.m. when the Brussels firefighters responded to a fire on the 3rd floor (out of 4) of a row house on rue Marie-Christine in Laeken.
On site, fire crews noted a fully developed fire. The flames spread to the upper floor.
Two lances were needed to control the fire. A long-term excavation is to be planned in order to “ensure that the fire has not affected the wooden structure of the roof”, according to the spokesperson for the Brussels firefighters. A replacement is planned on site.
The occupants of the accommodation are safe and sound. They were taken care of by the police of the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles zone and the municipal services. The house was declared uninhabitable.
The accidental origin remains to be determined.
