This Tuesday, November 26 at 8:30 p.m., the Gérard Philipe room will vibrate in the colors of Ukraine with the show “Ballets and dances of Ukraine”, an ode to the culture and elegance of this Eastern country.
On stage, the famous “Joyeux Petits Souliers” troupe will offer a dazzling dance show with wild rhythms, poignant melodies and sumptuous costumes, promising spectators an immersive journey and… an act of solidarity. This company, made up of around forty young artists, the oldest of whom are only around twenty years old, comes from the “Joyeux Petits Souliers” school based in Lviv, in western Ukraine, where it brings together more than 430 children. Under the passionate direction of Mariya and Volodya Chmyr, this young troupe is joined for the occasion by the vocal group “Orpheus”, eight male voices who excel in the art of a cappella singing, combining emotion and virtuosity. They will also be in concert on Thursday, November 28, at 8:30 p.m. at the Platé church.
This show is organized by the association “Tarn Ukraine”, whose head office is based in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie and the branch located in Albi. The association works on several fronts: promotion of tours, financial support for retirement homes and orphanages in Ukraine, sponsorship, among other initiatives. Brigitte, president of the association, confided during their previous visit to Castres “to have been amazed by their services: They even visited Drucker! I am involved because it is really worth it.” Adding “that the young dancers, hosted during their tour by volunteer families from the region, are distinguished by their kindness and politeness.”
