For its part, the Lebanese army announced that one of its soldiers had been killed and 18 injured, some seriously, in an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon.
Reporting a “complex operation”, pro-Iranian Hezbollah said it had fired a “salvo of missiles and a swarm of explosive drones” towards a military target in Tel Aviv.
In a separate statement, he added that he had launched “explosive drones” towards a naval base in Ashdod, in a rare attack on southern Israel since the start, on September 23, of the open war with Israel.
Warning sirens
In Israel, the army announced that warning sirens had sounded in the north and center of the country.
Earlier in the morning, sirens sounded in several areas of central and northern Israel, including in the large suburbs of Tel Aviv, she said.
It initially indicated having intercepted five projectiles out of six in the areas of Dan, Sharon and Menashe, the sixth falling in an uninhabited area. Then it reported the firing of around 55 projectiles into northern Israel, saying it had intercepted a certain number of them.

In southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army said one of its soldiers was killed and 18 wounded in an “attack by the Israeli enemy which targeted an army center in the town of al-Amiriyeh , causing significant damage,” according to the text.
Several Lebanese soldiers have been killed in Israeli strikes since the start of the war between Hezbollah and Israel, according to the army.
