Heavy precipitation of all kinds reached the coastal regions of Northern California, causing several damages.
On November 22, northern California was rocked by record flooding. A mixture of precipitation accompanied by violent gusts, reaching nearly 80 km/h, caused major damage. Trees fell on homes and power lines, causing numerous outages.
The National Weather Service has issued flash flood warnings, including for the city of San Francisco.
In response to these extreme conditions, evacuation orders were issued in several areas in Northern California, including the North Chico area and Humboldt County.
Additionally, due to this severe weather, flights to or from San Francisco Airport were also canceled or delayed, according to Flight Aware.
In a video shared on the social network “X” (formerly Twitter), we can see two people accompanied by their dog who are struggling to get out of their vehicle, immersed in the water accumulations.
This event is due to the formation of an atmospheric river.
