Apple wants to get back on track with ChatGPT and Gemini
The goal is to make interactions with Siri more natural, intuitive and able to process complex queries more quickly. This project is part of Apple's larger effort to catch up with ChatGPT, Gemini and other advanced AI.
Apple has already made several attempts to overhaul Siri. In June, the assistant gained a bright interface and the ability to perform actions based on what's on a user's screen. There are also plans to integrate ChatGPT next month.
Siri LLM could be long overdue
According to BloombergApple is already testing a version of the new Siri on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Ultimately, this version would replace the current Siri and integrate with Apple Intelligence features, such as text generation and summarization. A partial unveiling is planned for next year with iOS 19 and macOS 16, but the full rollout would not happen until the following year.
Apple has not made any comments on this matter. However, a recent job posting hints at these developments.
« You'll join a team that's redefining computing, creating breakthrough conversational assistant technologies for large-scale systems and new client devices, and with the people who built intelligent assistants ”, says the ad.
