Double murder in Douarnenez: two people arrested

Saturday November 9, 2024, two men were killed in Douarnenez (Finistère). One was found seriously injured at the foot of a building in the town of Kermabon in the early morning, but died shortly after. The body of the other was in an apartment that had been set on fire and was completely destroyed.

The Quimper gendarmerie research brigade was seized of the investigation with the support of the Rennes research section on the facts of double intentional homicide.

The bodies of the two victims were transported to the Brest forensic institute for autopsy.

Camille Miansioni, public prosecutor at the Brest judicial court, indicates in a press release that the investigations carried out by the investigators allowed the discovery ofa knife showing traces of blood as well asa lighter outside the apartment.

Autopsies carried out on the bodies of the victims reveal the presence of numerous stab wounds at the origin of the deaths.

“Investigations carried out in the immediate environment of the victims made it possible to establish their usual associations. The result was that a couple had spent the evening preceding the incident with the two victims. These two people who suddenly disappeared appeared to be the first suspects of these facts. »

A woman and a man arrested in Perpignan

On November 18, 2024, a woman, born in April 1998, and a man, born in October 1998, were arrested in Perpignan (66). They were taken into custody. “It’s about people already convictedparticularly for acts of intentional violence. Their interviews as well as the clues collected make it possible to reinforce the suspicions and the clues in favor of their presence in the apartment as well as their participation in the facts,” relates the prosecutor.

These two people were presented to the investigating magistrate on Thursday November 21, 2024.

The woman was indicted for murder of a vulnerable person in recurrencerepeated murder, modification of the inventory of a crime or misdemeanor to obstruct the manifestation of the truth in repeat offense, damage or deterioration of the property of others by a means dangerous for repeat offenders .

The man was indicted for: murder of a vulnerable person, modification of the inventory of a crime or misdemeanor to obstruct the disclosure of the truth, damage or deterioration of property of others by means dangerous to people.

“They face the penalty of life imprisonment for these acts. Presented to the judge of freedoms and detention, they were placed in pre-trial detention and incarcerated,” specifies Camille Miansioni.
