On January 6, 2025, the University of Limoges will change its presidency, following a vote by the board of directors which was (largely) elected on Thursday evening. “It is the University in Action list which wins college A and college B,” announced, at the start of the evening, the current president Isabelle Klock-Fontanille.
Vincent Jolivet's list wins twelve seats out of the sixteen that teachers, teacher-researchers and researchers can elect. The director of the IAE is therefore in the lead for the presidency. Four other seats were won by the competing “Respire” list, represented by Stéphane Valette.
“Philosophically, when you have colleges A and B, you are more inclined to win the presidency,” explained Vincent Jolivet, just before promulgation. We cannot imagine a university presidency in opposition to those who carry out research or teaching there. »
“The future is going to be complicated, it’s important to say that”
The success of the program he is proposing can be explained, according to him, by his pragmatism: “The future is going to be complicated, we know it and we say it, it's important. We will have to put our strengths forward and make decisions. We didn't make enough choices this year. » And to decide, “we proposed a method: that of collegiality. It is not a president who should make the decisions,” he finally affirmed, on his way to sign the results.
On December 17, eight other representatives will join the board of directors: four will be personalities elected by local authorities and research organizations, four others will be external personalities chosen by the 28 elected members of the CA. Together, on January 6, they will choose whether or not to give Vincent Jolivet the estate of Isabelle Klock-Fontanille.
