The winners
In The sidecar monkey, Patrice Delbourg explores the paradoxes of the human condition. Through vibrant poetic images and subtle play on words, he questions memory, loss and the absurd, while paying homage to the fragility of existence. This collection is distinguished by its dark humor, offering a reading that is both disturbing and luminous.
Beyond the sky under the earthby Aleš Šteger, immerses the reader in a poetic meditation on the contemporary world. In Šteger, a cosmic dimension intends to transport the poem beyond the sky and under the earth. Words recreate the world infinitely, leading us into dizzying metaphysical questioning. His sharp verses, with unfailing lucidity, draw their energy from their conciseness. The images, full of mystery, give way to a refined lyricism of singular beauty.
The translator Guillaume Métayer, CNRS research director, brilliantly succeeded in restoring the essence and nuances of Aleš Šteger's work, allowing the French-speaking public to immerse themselves in this deep and vibrant poetry, according to the publisher Gallimard .
