As for the sales period, previously really creating the event twice a year at well-defined periods, Black Friday stretches over time. At least, for the entire month of November: if the official day in 2024 is Friday November 29 – the day after the American Thanksgiving holiday – reductions are already visible almost everywhere. The French are in any case there, and rely, for the good of their portfolios, on very specific brands. In the ranking of brands that have every confidence in making savings, five are Northerners. Here they are.

Five northern brands among the French's favorites for Black Friday

As usual, OpinionWay carried out a survey for Bonial, a media and technology company. For the occasion, 1,009 French people over the age of 18 were questioned about their consumption habits and preferences specifically for Black Friday. The responses made it possible to establish various rankings, by sector of activityand thus highlight the brands that are particularly scrutinized and popular to benefit from real discounts. Four brands from the North appear: Boulanger, Nocibé, Auchan, Kiabi, and Decathlon.

Boulangercreated in Lille in the 1950s, thus arrives in 3rd position trustworthy brands in the electronics/household appliances category (behind Fnac Darty in 1st, and Cdiscount in 2nd). Nocibéfounded in Lille in 1984, also occupies 3rd place in the hygiene/beauty category, behind Sephora and Yves Rocher.

The rest of the brands belong to the Mulliez family group. Despite the difficulties it is currently experiencing, the brand Auchan remains popular with the French during Black Friday: it is 3rd in the supermarket food category, behind E.Leclerc and Carrefour. Then come two leaders in their categories: for ready-to-wear and sports, it's Kiabi et Decathlon which French customers prioritize to maintain their purchasing power.

Kiabi is ahead of Les Galeries Lafayette and Gémi, Decathlon is above Intersport. The overall top, and therefore all categories combined, is made up ofAmazon first, followed by Fnac Darty and E.Leclerc.
