The date of the big Miss France competition is slowly approaching. And for the young women in the running, it's also time for a general knowledge test. Télé-Loisirs says more about the organization of this evaluation!
The Miss France 2025 competition will be held on December 14, 2024 at the Arena Futuroscope in Poitiers, an emblematic venue inaugurated two years ago. This glamorous evening will bring together 30 regional candidates from the four corners of France, ready to compete to win the coveted title. Before this big evening, the candidates participate in an intensive program which prepares them for the different stages of the competition. This year, they traveled to Ivory Coast to follow masterclasses led by former Miss France such as Diane Leyre (Miss France 2022) for eloquence or Maëva Coucke (Miss France 2018) for the fashion show. The theme of this edition, “The Misses' Grand Ball”, promises a magical and memorable evening for viewers and the jury.
The general knowledge test: an essential test
Among the stages feared by candidates is the general knowledge test, an essential ritual for almost 20 years. This year, it took place on November 21, 2024 in Ivory Coast, during the preparation trip for the 30 regional Misses. As Frédéric Gilbert, president of the Miss France company, confided to Tele-Leisurethe test is feared by candidates: “In previous years, some were destabilized by the difficulty of the test, especially when it was composed only of open questions.”
This edition, however, introduced a mix of open-ended and multiple-choice questions (MCQs), a decision taken to make the test more accessible. Among the new features, the return of dictation, an initiative by Cindy Fabre, director of the competition, who reinstated it to test mastery of French in a fun setting. “Dictation is a nod to the fundamentals and importance of language”she specifies.
Foolproof discretion
The development of the 60 questions is based on a meticulous and confidential process. “Only five people are in the know to avoid any leak”explains Frédéric Gilbert. The evaluation of results remains strictly supervised. Cindy Fabre herself corrects the papers and applies a rigorous points grid before bringing the marks back to 20. Only the three best marks are announced publicly in order to avoid “not stigmatize” the candidates “who get the worst gradeses”.
