We learned this Thursday evening that a man was arrested in connection with the investigation into the death of Lilian Dejean in Grenoble on September 8. The Grenoble public prosecutor, Éric Vaillant, indicated that a man likely to be the suspect in the murder of the municipal agent was arrested in Portugal as part of the European arrest warrant issued by the Grenoble investigating judge in charge of the investigation. “Checks are underway to ensure the identity of the person arrested” further specifies the public prosecutor.
The courts announced that a European arrest warrant had been issued on September 16 against the suspect on the run. Aged 25, an identity document in his name was found in the Audi RS3 rental car registered in Poland, at the origin of the accident in the center of Grenoble. The wanted man was known to the courts in particular for “theft, violence and drug trafficking” and for having beaten, with five fellow prisoners, another prisoner at the Varces remand center (Isère) in June 2023. Judicial information was opened on September 11 to find him.
