Who said young people don’t read? Since 2004, however, many have engaged in the adventure of the Literary Prize for middle school students. Let’s see what these young people will read this year!
Determined by a jury composed of the journalist Laila Maalouf, the writer and professor of literature André Marquis and Pascal Raud, translator and co-editor-in-chief of the magazine Solaristhis selection of inspiring titles will be submitted to some 800 college students. And it is their critical eye and their informed judgment that will be called upon to determine the winning book.

Students from participating CEGEPs and colleges will therefore have to read these books and possibly discuss and debate them, under the supervision of a teacher. At the end of these meetings, the students from each establishment will choose their favorite book to present to all the groups. The winner will be known next spring.
The Literary Prize for College Students is an initiative of the Intercollegiate Network of Sociocultural Activities of Quebec (RIASQ), whose mission is to ensure the organization of cultural leisure activities for young people. Present in 95% of establishments, the RIASQ represents approximately 170,000 students.
