A 32-year-old Vannes resident was arrested on Tuesday November 19, 2024, around 10 p.m., after refusing to comply in the Ménimur district, in Vannes (Morbihan).
The latter ran a red light before trying to escape a police check as reported by Ouest-France.
A flagrant offense
While patrolling near the Ménimur district, emergency police officers witnessed an infraction: a vehicle crossed a red light without stopping. The police immediately activated sirens and flashing lights to intercept the driver, but he ignored their orders and continued on his way.
A late stop
After a few moments, the driver finally changed his mind and stopped his vehicle. He got out of his car to submit to the inspection. The police then noticed that the man was driving without a driving license. He was immediately arrested and taken into police custody.
A court summons
Faced with investigators, the thirty-year-old admitted the facts and justified his behavior by the absence of a driving license. Released Wednesday afternoon, he is summoned to court on May 7, 2025 to answer for his actions. As for his vehicle, it was immobilized and sent to the pound.
This new incident reminds us of the importance of road checks to guarantee safety on the roads.
