Last Friday, at Bernieres-d’Ailly not far from Falaise, the general meeting of the Friends of the chapel of Sainte-Anne d’Entremont under the presidency of Marie-Thérèse Devilliers, in the presence of Mayor Marie-Anne Hinard and around twenty people.

The president spoke about the activities that took place such as the Christmas decoration workshop with the children led by Hélène. But the Christmas entertainment was canceled.

The association adheres to the heritage of the churches of the Pays d’Auge and as a result, it participated in the crèche route, thus making it possible to visit the churches, chapels, etc.

Marie-Thérèse Devilliers returned to the signing of the agreement signed with the heritage foundation recently (read the Falaise News of Thursday May 30). As such, an appeal was launched to patrons. Just go to the heritage foundation website where donations are tax deductible.

A party in 2027

Work on the chapel will begin in September and end at the end of June 2025. This will leave the location available for the Sainte-Anne pilgrimage. It would perhaps be possible, to mark the event of the restoration of the chapel, to have the arrival of the bishop.

The Bernières-d’Ailly festival committee will lend a hand for the pilgrimage at the end of July and will also help to empty the chapel of statues and objects collected for the period of the works.

As part of the 1000th anniversary of the birth of William the Conqueror, in 2027, the association is planning a celebration linked to the chapel. There is time left, everyone will have to think and have religious and cultural ideas, finding a significant event.

An observation walk is planned for adults and children as a family so that they can walk around the village on a Sunday morning or Saturday evening. The date has not yet been set.

Valérie Bouland will be in charge of the organization. A lottery is planned at the Vignats village hall in October. The subscription remains fixed at 10 euros for the year.
