Friday June 28, 2024, a fire broke out in the city center of Évron (Mayenne). Around 5 p.m., 16 firefighters were fighting the fire which broke out on the roof of an outbuilding on rue des Prés, largely made up of terraced houses.

A fire broke out on Friday June 28, 2024 in the city center of Évron.
16 firefighters mobilized
At 5 p.m., 16 firefighters were fighting the flames at 60, rue des Prés. This artery is made up of terraced housing.
Fire broke out on the roof of an outbuilding “covered with photovoltaic panels”at the back of the house.
This caused a “strong smoke release”which was no longer visible at 5:20 p.m.
The road was closed to traffic from rue du Chanoîne-Ceuneau to Place de la Basilique, which however remains accessible.
Soldiers from the Évron gendarmerie were also on site, as was a team from Enedis.
Parents of students at Saint-Joseph school were still able to pick up their children after school.
