The new Tesla Model 3 Highland in the Long Autonomy version receives a paid software update: the famous Acceleration Boost which was already available on the old version. Enough to completely unleash the engines, to greatly gain performance.
Electric cars, especially Teslas, are known for their ability to be updated remotely. Most of the time it is an update to the infotainment system. But sometimes the updates can be much deeper, like when Tesla increased the charging power of its cars remotely.
If you are the owner of a restyled Tesla Model 3 (Highland) in the Long Autonomy version, then the new update available as an option should interest you. This is the option “ Acceleration Boost » which allows the full power of the two engines to be unleashed, as detailed by eivissacopter on X (formerly Twitter). An option that was already available on the old Model 3.
An even faster 0 to 100 km/h
This option allows you to increase the car's performance in one click. 0 to 100 km/h then goes from 4.4 to 3.8 seconds, as we can see in the screenshot shared on Reddit by an Australian customer. The option is not free, since the manufacturer would ask for 3,000 Australian dollars (around 1,850 euros).
According to some sources, this option is not yet available in Europe, but only in China and Asia. The extra power would be around 65 kW (88 hp) if we are to believe the European approval papers, with a total of 366 kW (497 hp).
For comparison, the Tesla Model 3 Performance goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds with its 415 kW (560 hp), but its speed is not limited to 200 km/h unlike the Grande variant. Autonomy.
When this option becomes available in France, it will be possible to purchase it directly from the Tesla application.
