10 a.m. “We should expect layoffs in 2025.”

Samir Athier, president of the Fnat 29 office (National Federation of Taxi Craftsmen) explains: “The Cnam has decided to cut health expenses, in particular the transport of patients, which represents 3% of the fund’s expenses. For some taxis who operate in rural areas, this is their main source of income. We must expect layoffs by 2025. You see all these taxis, almost all of them are individual businesses. They are liable for the sums incurred down to the last cent. If they sink, they end up in the street.”

The taxis arrived at the airport this Thursday, November 21, 2024.

He adds “We defend our businesses but also our patients. They have not been informed enough. This is why taxis will also go to the Cavale Blanche hospital to tow and inform them of the situation.”
