► The American envoy will meet Netanyahu
American envoy Amos Hochstein, who is trying to bring about a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah, is due to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday, November 21.
Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesperson confirmed that the two men were to see each other during the day. According to Israeli media, Amos Hochstein landed in Israel on Wednesday evening from Lebanon and spoke in the evening with Ron Dermer, Minister of Strategic Affairs and Benyamin Netanyahu's confidant.
► Gaza civil defense announces 22 dead in strike
The civil defense of the Gaza Strip announced the death of 22 people killed overnight by an Israeli strike in Gaza City, medical sources reporting dozens of deaths in another nighttime strike in the north of the territory.
“We confirm that 22 martyrs were transferred [vers des hôpitaux] after a strike aimed at [une] house (…) in Sheikh Radwan »district of Gaza city, said a civil defense spokesperson. Another strike that occurred around midnight in the area of Beit Lahia and Jabalia left dozens dead, according to medical sources. Civil Defense has not yet announced the results of this second strike.
► Syria: 68 dead in Israeli strikes
The death toll from Israeli strikes carried out on Wednesday against pro-Iranian groups in the thousand-year-old city of Palmyra, in central Syria, rose to 68 dead, an NGO said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) specified that these were 42 pro-Iranian Syrian fighters and 26 foreigners, most of them Iraqis from the Al-Noujaba group but also four members of Lebanese Hezbollah. The NGO's previous toll was 61 dead.
