Announced in many clubs, the top scorer of the Euro, Georges Mikautadze, could soon join Monaco. The Georgian attracts covetousness, and Monaco seems in pole position to secure the services of the young striker.

The rising star of George Mikautadze

Announced in a lot of clubs, the top scorer of the Euro would have finally chosen his club. Currently, he is breaking the house in Germany. Author of a historic qualification with Georgia in the eighth finals of the Euro, his rating only increases to the great delight of FC Metz.

The Georgian has just achieved a record, as he is only the 3rd player in history to score a goal in every group stage match of a Euro. Before him, only Gerd Müller and Hristo Stoichkov had achieved such a feat. Enough to crown his magnificent season, despite Metz’s relegation to Ligue 2.

Monaco in pole position to sign Mikautadze

The Georgian striker had said he would stay in Ligue 1 next season, but with his relegation to Ligue 2, the interest is huge. Several Ligue 1 clubs are interested in King George: Lens, Monaco, Marseille and Lyon.

Some avenues have cooled, such as Lyon, his hometown, since Alexandre Lacazette has announced that he will complete his contract, or OM, which is already involved in several fairly expensive issues. All that remains is Lens or Monaco, both looking for a number 9. For Lens, it will be necessary to go through the sale box of Elye Wahi to hope to sign him.

The most likely route remains that leading to Monaco, and according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been found between the two parties. The Monegasques have also sent an offer to FC Metz to try to acquire Georges Mikautadze.
