The harmonized inflation index in France is estimated at +2.5% over one year in June

According to the first estimates from the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) published at 8:45 a.m., the harmonized consumer price index (HICP) in France would stand at 123.75 points in June 2024 (base 100 in 2015). Thus, inflation according to the calculation methods used at the European Union level would stand at +0.1% over one month and +2.5% over one year.

In May 2024, the harmonized consumer price index stood at 123.59 points, showing inflation of +0.1% over one month and +2.6% over one year.

What you need to know about this indicator: Like the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices measures inflation, i.e. the average change between 2 dates in the prices of products consumed by households. Implemented by the European Union, the HICP makes it possible to compare inflation between each country and to calculate the level of inflation at the European level. The HICP is published in 2 monthly publications, one provisional (at the end of the month) and one definitive (around the 13th of the following month).
