The beginning of summer is rich in cultural events in Toulouse: Tangopostale, Le Marathon des Mots, the Toulouse Festival and Cugnaux en piste are taking place this weekend. La Dépêche du Midi has selected 5 additional outing ideas for you. Ready?

A rich program of artists is open to all this weekend in the Compans-Caffarelli garden. For its 22nd edition, the Les Siestes festival remains completely free. It brings together talented artists who are rarely broadcast on TV or radio to introduce surprising genres to the people of Toulouse. The two stages set up in the park will be occupied from 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Maker challenges at the Quai des Savoirs

On Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the Quai des Savoirs, children and their parents will be able to take part in the Maker Challenges and take on the challenge of repairing a Martian exploration robot or making a collective work using 3D printers. These creative workshops in pairs last 1h30 and start at 2:15pm or 4:15pm. Places can be reserved online, for a single price of €7.

  • Be Street Festival in Plaisance

A new festival, open-air and free, is inaugurated on Saturday in Plaisance-sur-Touch, the BeStreet Festival, focused on rap and hip-hop. Activities and concerts will take place from 2 p.m. to midnight next to the La Petite Touch tavern. Live painting, jams and initiations will be offered to visitors from the beginning of the afternoon, then concerts by artists from the Toulouse scene will follow from 4 p.m.

  • “AI makes its cinema” at the American Cosmograph

“Brian and Charles” is an English film with typically “British” humor. It is broadcast on Friday at 8:30 p.m. as part of the screening cycle “AI fait son cinéma”, which explores the question of artificial intelligence through the offbeat eyes of the filmmakers. In this film, a wacky friendship is formed in the middle of the Welsh countryside between a solitary man and the robot he created to keep him company.

  • The Musical Garden at Villa Méricant

For two evenings, the tranquility of the Villa Méricant garden will give way to gentle melodies from artists from the Toulouse music scene. On Saturday, “Le Jardin Musical” will host, from 6:30 p.m., the musicians of the Artichaut Klezmer Trio, then, in the evening, the concert of the jazz group Rémi Panossian Trio before the light show of Shakti.

On Sunday, the legendary guitar-accordion duo formed by Serge Lopez and Jean-Luc Amestoy will perform a poetic flamenco at 6:30 p.m., then the energy of the Franco-Argentinian group Cuarteto Tafi will close the weekend from 8:30 p.m.

Price: €12. Reservation: [email protected] or on helloasso (here for Saturday and there for Sunday).
