The Handi mod'emploi fair was held on Wednesday November 20 at the Arena Palio Périgord. A third edition which has taken on a new scale, with more than 80 exhibitors.

IThere were more than a thousand people who walked the aisles of the Arena Palio Périgord on Wednesday November 20. For the third time, the Handi mod'emploi fair was offered in the city, aimed at people with disabilities. “People had difficulty identifying the actors in the department. It’s an opportunity to come together and get to know each other,” says Mélanie Lhopiteau, communications manager at Clairvivre, at the origin of this initiative. From 60 to 84 exhibitors, then from 300 to more than a thousand people, this show is getting bigger and bigger.

Support with Cap emploi

This year, different centers have been set up within the enclosure: for young people under 25, training centers, a job dating area, a workshop area, another dedicated to adapted equipment, and even a center for take care of yourself. Around thirty companies were present, a number that is constantly increasing. “We have more difficulty with the construction sector, they are more cautious. There is awareness to be raised, comments the organizer. We have Veolia which comes back every year, it receives good profiles. »

People with disabilities can be supported, if they wish, by Cap emploi, a state organization, like Travail. “We are working on a project compatible with his health situation. We support 1,200 to 1,300 people each year. A third finds a job for more than six months. The difficulty for us is that professions under pressure such as catering or home help are not the best suited for our audience,” explains Cécile Dutilleul, coordinator at Cap emploi.

The organization also has a service dedicated to maintaining employment, where around 200 people are supported. 'We are in contact with occupational physicians and the employer to adapt the position and allow people to keep it. » The coordinator would like to point out that people undergoing retraining or whose position is no longer suitable, and who are on sick leave, are entitled to complete company internships.

“We adapt, we develop”

Fareva, a cosmetics production factory based in Neuvic-sur-l'Isle, participated in this show for the second year. “We are open, we are aware, and we have positions that can be adapted, at the administration or production level. There are a lot of standing positions, but we adapt, we arrange,” certifies Marine Deschamps, HR manager at Fareva. Around fifteen employees of the company are disabled, out of around 200 employees. Ten positions are open. “We are aware and we are also raising awareness among employees. »

At Hermès, the leather saddler from Périgord Vert was also looking for candidates, with a view to the future site which will be built in Charente. “We also train people,” assures a representative. 45 people are wanted for the month of March.
