Nice. A truck catches fire on the A8 motorway, traffic interrupted

Traffic was completely interrupted on a portion of the A8 motorway this Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). The cause was a car fire, which occurred late in the morning. at entrance no. 55 Nice-Est.

Firefighters arrived on scene around 11:30 a.m. Traffic has since been limited to one lane.

Fire on a tank carrier

The accident took place in the Aix-Marseille direction of the A8, late in the morning this Wednesday.

In question? A tank truck, which transported several vehicles. One of them caught firethen requiring the intervention of the firefighters.

35 minutes late for traffic

Motorists and two-wheelers using the motorway had to resort to exit no. 55 Nice Center, or exit no. 58 Roquebrune. At 12:45 p.m., Vinci announced an extended journey time of around 35 minutes after La Turbie.

The flames have since been brought under control and the roads have been cleared. Entrance no. 55 has been reopened since 2:17 p.m. but traffic remains very busy.
