The future town hall of this Sarthe commune announced: what is its price?

Wednesday November 13, 2024, in Val de Vray, the municipality of Saint-Saturnin (Sarthe) had invited the population to a public meeting to present the future town hall. Around sixty residents made the trip.

The idea of ​​bringing the town hall closer to the town center emerged in 2010 “at the location where it was until 1977”. Studies were then requested from the CAUE (Council for Architecture, Urban Planning and the Environment), and the file was then kept in a drawer.

Then there was a lot of reflection within the municipal council : it was necessary to expand and renovate the existing building while knowing that the costs would be high with the upgrades to standards.

The future town hall of this Sarthe commune announced

“Once we decided to move to build something new, we expressed our needs to the architectural firm, specifying our desire to connect the EHPAD to the shops via a pedestrian crossing.»

The desire was to have a building that could stand the test of time, hence this classic brick construction with one floor and attic with solar panels installed on the roof,a large room of 170 m² with removable partition, a reception hall and office spaces. An elevator will connect the different floors.

The cost of the operation amounts to 2 019 166 €with a grant amount of €850,000. The rest comes from a loan of €447,942, a sale of land for €390,000 and €331,224 of FCTVA.

And the current town hall?

Another subject for reflection with the future of the current town hall. “Students from Les Horizons high school conducted a survey of the population (available at the town hall). Various ideas were expressedwe will study them when the time comes. »

Will it be necessary to change the name of the town hall street? “We will do a survey among street residents, they will decide. »

When will the work end? “Delivery is scheduled for late September/early October 2025. »
