“She has extremely demanding needs”: Jean-Marc Généreux talks about his daughter who suffers from Rett syndrome

Jean-Marc Généreux is one of the members of the jury of the TF1 show Dance with the stars alongside Chris Marques, Fauve Hautot and Mel Charlot. Known for his legendary “I buy“, his naturalness and his unfailing good humor, the Quebecer is also a particularly sensitive being and full of emotions, especially when he talks about his loved ones and his daughter Francesca.

A life built around Francesca

The fruit of his union with his wife France, their 25-year-old daughter suffers from Rett syndrome, a disease that prevents her from walking and expressing herself. Invited on the YouTube show In The Box a few days ago, the famous dancer decided to talk about his family and the conditions he created so that his daughter is as well as possible.

We created a little haven of peace for my daughter. Everything is equipped, the house, for her needs. There are little elevators everywhere because she doesn’t walk“, he expressed. He then wanted to reveal some of the moments he spent with her. “She has extremely demanding needs. But he is an angel who comes from heaven. Yes, we don’t really have a formal answer if we’re doing a good or bad job, but in any case, I can say that every night I’m at home, she always ends up in my arms on the couch. , I watch TV, she falls asleep on me. And I take her to her room and I put her back in her bed and each time she wakes up a little, she turns around and she smiles at me. And in the morning, when I go to pick her up, she is happy that I take her in my arms and so I say to myself, in her sleep, things must be happening“, he said.

France, a woman devoted to her children

He also took advantage of his time on the show to look back on the career that his wife put on hold to take care of their children. “France dedicated her life to our children, to Jean-Francis, who is now very tall and a handsome boy, and to Francesca, who is still at home and so it created a big break in our career, our course,” he admitted.
