Mr. Meziane took up his duties at the head of the Ministry of Communication on Tuesday in Algiers, replacing Mr. Mohamed Laagab, following the reshuffle of the Government carried out on Monday by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

During the handover ceremony, Mr. Meziane expressed his deep gratitude to the President of the Republic for the trust he placed in him to occupy this position in these “special” circumstances in order to contribute, he said. -he said, through “tireless efforts to enable the national media sector to make additional qualitative advances to live up to the reputation and position of Algeria at the international level, as well as its cultural values, its weight and its aspirations.

The Minister of Communication affirmed that one of the first actions he will take will aim to promote the media sector, all organs combined, at the highest levels, stressing that citizen service is “the compass that guides us.”

“After analysis, evaluation, reflection and prospecting, we will launch the necessary projects in order to transform them into action plans consistent with the political dimensions of this strategic sector,” he continued.

For Mr. Meziane, “the qualitative transformations that Algeria is experiencing encourage us to be vigilant and to imbibe national values ​​in all circumstances”, saying he is convinced that the current situation “requires greater mobilization from us to contribute to the development process and guarantee the public service of the national media sector.

“These values ​​in which we believe reflect the historical journey of the national media sector,” he maintained.

For his part, Mr. Laagab congratulated the new Minister of Communication, wishing him success in his duties.
