The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office announced, this Wednesday, June 26, the death of the young man who was seriously injured on Sunday after a fall on a scooter. This 22-year-old refused to comply with a police check before having an accident in between Gennevilliers et Asnières-sur-Seine. He died Monday afternoon, reports Le Figaro. Two investigations were opened after the tragedy: a first for refusal to comply led by the Territorial Security of Hauts-de-Seineand a second for unintentional injuries by vehicle driver entrusted to the IGPN.

The victim tested positive for alcohol and cannabis

The use of video surveillance cameras made it possible to « confirm the police version » in the course of events. According to the first elements of the investigations, the police stopped following the scooter which fled, despite the officers’ request to stop. The young man riding a scooter, without a helmet, had refused priority to a police vehicle, which first followed him along an avenue separating Gennevilliers and Asnières-sur-Seine, in Hauts-de-Seine. The police nevertheless quickly stopped their course « on the orders of their hierarchy »confirms the prosecution.

The young man fled before being found “below on a railway track” after what seems to be « a collision between the scooter and a metal barrier”, detailed the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture on Sunday. HAS When they arrived on site, the police came to the aid of the young man and « immediately alerted the firefighters”. The prosecution indicated that blood tests carried out on the young man revealed that he was « positive for alcohol and cannabis » at the time of the accident.
