The date is symbolic: this Tuesday, November 19 marks the thousandth day since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, February 24, 2022. On this occasion, the Franco-Ukrainian association Volya invites a silent gathering, at 6 p.m., in front of the Graslin theater, in Nantes. “On the eve of winter, resistant Ukraine is a country that is a little more bruised every day. Its population and its fighters need the reinforced support of all those committed to respecting the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and the rights of its little ple to freely choose one’s destiny”underlines the association, in a press release.
Supporting associations
Several associations and political movements have relayed this call, such as Amnesty International, the Human Rights League, the France-Palestine solidarity association, the Movement against racism and for friendship between peoples ( MRAP), the Ecologists (EELV Nantes), the Socialist Party, etc. They demand “the cessation of bombing and fighting, and the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory”. These associations call, on this sad anniversary date, to “strengthen concrete solidarity with this country”.
