Two psychologists intervene this Monday, November 18 at the Vimy school after the death of a mother and two children from the town in a traffic accident.
Flowers and drawings left in front of the town hall. There is great emotion in the town of Vimy (Pas-de-Calais) after the death on Saturday November 16 of a mother and her two children in an accident on the A26, involving a second driver hospitalized in serious condition in Lille.
“Goodbye Naël, Yannis, and your mother, we will not forget you”, we can read on one of the drawings left in front of the town hall, and accompanied by around ten white flowers.
The US Vimy football club, where one of the children was dismissed, also paid tribute to the family on Facebook.
“The club has a heavy heart this evening, all our thoughts are with Naël, one of our little ones from the U8/U9 group, his mother and his brother who left all three of us tragically today,” notes the club.
A message relayed by many clubs in the region such as RC Lens which sent its “moved thoughts” to the relatives of the victims.
A return to school with “respect, dignity and appeasement”
After “the shock” of the weekend, the start of the school year took place this Monday morning “with a lot of respect, dignity and appeasement”, explains the mayor of the town to BFM Grand Lille in front of the establishment.
“Two psychologists have contacted the teachers and are working in the classes,” adds Christian Sprimont.
The elected official will receive the victims’ families during the day to determine what tribute will be given to them, “the objective being to respect their will and their wishes”.
